3. Are you a contractor or affiliated with any remodeling company?
No. Remodeling Advisors is independent and not affiliated with any contractor, designer, or construction company.

4. Do I have to use the people you recommend?
No. There’s no obligation to hire anyone recommended. We carefully match you with several quality professionals based on your individual project needs. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to interview these companies since turnover can happen—and choose whoever you feel is the best fit for you.

5. Can I get referrals without scheduling a consultation?
Free referrals are provided during the 15-minute call so we can better understand your project and match you with the right professionals. If a call isn’t convenient, referrals can be sent by email, but personalized project advice isn’t available via email.

6. What kinds of pros do you refer people to?
Referrals include a variety of professionals such as realtors, architects, builders, general contractors, designers, and specialty trades—to name a few. We can also connect you with vendors like tile and flooring showrooms, plumbing, lighting, and appliance suppliers, cabinet companies, and many more.

7. How do you choose who to recommend?
Recommendations come from a trusted network built over 30 years in the Austin remodeling industry. Established professionals are known for their experience, reliability, and quality work. For newer companies or trades, we carefully screen them to ensure they meet high standards. Ultimately, the goal is to make a personal match tailored to the unique needs of your project and the goals you want to achieve.

8. Do you get paid by the contractors or designers you refer?
Yes, we usually receive a referral fee from professionals if they’re hired. This allows the service to remain completely free to homeowners — which is why this service was created in the first place: to offer trustworthy, experienced guidance from someone outside the sales process.

9. How much does it cost if I want more guidance beyond the free call?
If you’d like more support after the free 15-minute consultation, you can book a Virtual Plus session — a one-hour Zoom call to discuss your project, ask questions, and get guidance on next steps. Prefer to meet in person? The Advisor Plus plan includes a home visit, where we’ll walk the space together, review existing conditions, and tailor the advice more closely to your design, goals, and timeline.

If additional consulting is needed it we be billed at $150/hour.
